Hardware Installation (Introduction)
Chromeleon allows you to connect the most diverse HPLC, IC, and GC instruments. Install the instruments in the separate installation program (= Server Configuration program).
You must have a valid Chromeleon license if you want to install the different devices. For information about how to enter the Chromeleon license, refer to Entering the Software License.
To enable control of an instrument, perform the following three steps:
Establish a Serial Connection between the Server PC and the Instrument
Switch the Instrument to Remote Operation
Configure the Chromeleon Server: Add and Configure Devices
This last topic also applies to some of the Sharable Devices, such as the Dionex Universal Chromatography Interface (UCI).
Control of Dionex Devices
For an overview of the Dionex devices that can be controlled by Chromeleon, refer to
Installing Dionex Devices.
For installation details about a certain device, refer to the corresponding subsections.
Control of Thermo Scientific Devices
For an overview of the Thermo Scientific devices that can be controlled by Chromeleon, refer to
Installing Thermo Scientific Devices.
For installation details about a certain device, refer to the corresponding subsections.
Control of Third-Party Devices
Chromeleon allows you to control a number of instruments from other manufacturers (= third-party devices). Read the operating instructions for the device manual thoroughly to obtain full understanding of the instrument. For a list of manufacturers, refer to
Installing and Controlling Third-Party Devices.
For installation details about a certain device, refer to the corresponding subsections.
Tip:
Not all instruments are equally well suitable for direct control. Therefore, it is possible that not all functions provided by the instrument are supported!
